British and Spanish naval explorers scouted Indian Arm in the late eighteenth century, and by the mid-nineteenth century, whales were being caught and flensed on the Cove’s shores. In the 1910s, it because a popular summer resort with cabins while logging and granite quarrying started featuring in the local history. For many years, the focal point of the community included a yacht club, dance hall and general store.
Today, Deep Cove is home to a vibrant community and many waterfront and water-view homes. The Village of Deep Cove is the furthest East you can go on the North Shore and has access to incredible hiking, water sports such as kayaking and paddle-boarding, world-class restaurants and eateries (Honey’s Doughnuts anyone?) and fabulous coffee shops.
